Sun Nudge Privacy Policy
Sun Nudge is built to stay on your devices. No account. No ads. We do not sell personal information.
This policy is for the iOS and watchOS app Sun Nudge only. It is not the privacy policy for Dusty's Magic the studio or dustysmagic.com.
What Sun Nudge uses
Time in Daylight from Apple Health. Sun Nudge reads this on your device so your ring, streaks, and nudges can update automatically. Access is read-only. We never write daylight (or any other Health) data. You stay in control in iOS Settings → Health.
Location, when you use UV & Sun Safety. If you open that feature and allow Location, Sun Nudge uses coarse (reduced-accuracy) location to fetch UV index, sky conditions, and golden-hour times for where you are. We do not use Location for ads or tracking, and we do not keep a location history.
On-device settings. Your goal, skin type, notification choices, and similar preferences are stored on your iPhone and Apple Watch (including an App Group so the Watch, widgets, and complications can stay in sync). That data does not go to our servers.
Notifications. If you allow them, Sun Nudge schedules local reminders on your device (daylight nudges, optional SPF coaching). We do not send push from a server.
Weather
UV, sky, and solar times may come from Apple Weather (WeatherKit), with the required Apple Weather attribution in the app, or from a non-commercial Open-Meteo fallback if Apple Weather is unavailable. Those services receive the location needed to return weather for that request. We do not sell that data or build a profile from it.
What we do not do
No account. No sign-in. No advertising network. No analytics SDK we run. We do not sell personal information. Health data stays in Apple Health on your devices.
How long it stays
Health data remains in the Health app under Apple's rules. Location is used in the moment for UV and sky — it is not stored as a history. App settings remain on your devices until you change them, reset the app, or delete Sun Nudge.
Your choices
You can turn access off anytime:
- Health: iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Sun Nudge
- Location: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Sun Nudge
- Notifications: iOS Settings → Notifications → Sun Nudge, or in the app
- Delete the app to remove on-device settings
Children
Sun Nudge is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
